What each plan includes

Personal: $10 per user a month

For one person sharing documents. It includes basic sharing controls, document-level analytics, 4 eSignatures a month, unlimited visitors, 10 GB of storage per user and uploads up to 2 GB.

Standard: $45 per user a month

DocSend's most popular plan. It adds sharing several files in one link, video analytics, file requests, a branded viewer with a branded docsend.com subdomain, and unlimited eSignatures. Storage rises to 50 GB per user.

Advanced: $150 a month for 3 users

Built for deal work. It adds lightweight data rooms (DocSend calls them Spaces), email verification for visitors, allow and block lists, dynamic watermarks, NDAs and other gating agreements, and screenshot protection.

Advanced Data Rooms: $180 a month for 3 users

Adds group permissions, due diligence tracking, data room audit logs and analytics, automatic file indexing and priority email support.

Salesforce and single sign-on are paid add-ons on the higher plans. DocSend asks you to contact sales for those.

What DocSend really costs

The per-user price matters as soon as more than one person sends documents.

Team Plan Yearly cost
A founder sending a deck Personal $120 a year
One salesperson who wants branding Standard $540 a year
Three people on Standard Standard $1,620 a year
Three people needing NDAs and a data room Advanced $1,800 a year

On monthly billing the same founder pays $180 a year, and three people on Standard pay $2,340.

Is there a free DocSend plan?

No. DocSend offers a 14-day trial of Advanced Data Rooms. After that you choose a paid plan. DocSend notes that unlimited visitors are not included during the trial.

Is DocSend worth it?

DocSend is worth it when documents are part of a deal: a fundraise with a data room, a sales team that needs NDAs and watermarks, or a company that wants everyone's document activity in one place. It is strong at all of that.

It is a lot to pay if you send a deck or a proposal now and then and only want to know it was opened. In that case a simpler tool, or one with a free plan, does the job.

Cheaper DocSend alternatives

Tool Free plan Paid from
SharePDF Yes: 2 PDFs, 5 MB $5/month or $48/year
Papermark Yes: 50 documents 24 EUR/month yearly (29 EUR monthly)
Peony Yes: 50 documents $30 per admin/month yearly
HelpRange Yes: 15 views a month $31 per team/month yearly

We make SharePDF, so judge it with that in mind. It does less than DocSend: no data rooms, NDAs, watermarks or e-signatures. What you get is a PDF link that opens in the browser, an email the first time someone else opens an unlisted PDF, and, on paid plans, password, expiry, email capture, time on each page and your own domain.
