SharePDF is designed for sharing PDF documents publicly via unique URLs — it is not a private storage service. When you upload a PDF, it is assigned a shareable link that allows anyone with the link to view the document at any time, until you delete it from your account.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed). If you use social login (Google or GitHub), we receive your basic profile information from those services.
Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive and store only your subscription status, plan type, and billing dates to manage your account.
PDF Files: The PDF documents you upload are stored on Cloudflare R2 and are automatically assigned a unique shareable URL. Anyone who has this URL can view the PDF at any time. Each share link grants access only to that specific PDF — it does not expose your other documents or your account. You can delete a PDF from your dashboard at any time, which permanently removes access via its share link.
Usage Analytics: We track view counts for your shared PDFs to provide you with analytics. We do not track individual viewers or collect their personal information.
Technical & Session Data: We collect basic technical information such as browser type (user agent) and IP address for security, session management, and service improvement purposes. This data is stored in our sessions table while your session is active.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the SharePDF service
Allow you to upload, store, and share PDF documents
Process subscriptions and manage your account plan
Display view analytics for your shared documents
Protect against unauthorized access and abuse
Improve our service based on usage patterns
Communicate with you about your account when necessary

Account data: Retained while your account is active and deleted when you delete your account
PDF files: Stored while active; trashed PDFs are permanently purged after 7 days
Session data: Cleared when your session expires or you log out
Payment records: Subscription status is retained while your account exists; full payment records are held by Dodo Payments per their retention policy

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in locations outside your country of residence. Our service providers — including Cloudflare (global CDN and storage) and Dodo Payments (payment processing) — may process data in various jurisdictions. By using SharePDF, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations. We ensure that our service providers maintain appropriate data protection standards.

Cookies & Tracking

SharePDF uses essential session cookies to keep you logged in and protect against CSRF attacks, as well as a preference cookie to remember your light/dark mode setting.
